How to apply for a project?
Introduction
Research proposals, supported by GU RAC-S should be in the areas as described in the document - Research Areas in Space (2023). There are five primary areas under which you can submit a research project. Each primary areas are sub-divided into several sub-areas. Each of these sub-areas has agian different fields and each of the fields is asigned to a specific ISRO Centre.
Our online submission form will guide you through these areas, sub-areas, and fields, and the relevant ISRO centres. Once you zero-in on a field belonging to a certain ISRO centre, your project will be sent to that centre for review.
You may also visit (or contact) the particular ISRO centre relevant to your project and contact the coordinator / scientist, best suited for your project and discuss the details of your project, if necessary, before submiting here. You can find all the details in the above-mentioned document.
Below we describe in bullet points, the procedure you need to follow to apply for a project.
Your proposed project need not be exactly same as per the area, sub-area, and field mentioned in the document. But it MUST belong to one of the area, sub-area, and field.

Funding of high-value assets under this scheme
While the final budget of individual projects will depend on the number of successful projects which are worthy of funding (in a financial year), we strongly encourage prospective PIs to restrict the budget of the project within ₹20.0 lakh or so, though this is NOT a strict limit. If a project really requires a higher budget, ISRO is open to considering a higher limit. If your project requires certain high-value assets and state-of-the-art experimental and testing facilities, we request you to explore various ISRO centres (or other national centres / institutes), where you will be able to avail these facilities. This scheme is NOT meant to be used for establishing infrastructure facilities, rather we assume that you already have at your disposal the facilities required to carry out your project work.
