Can I have a Co-PI?
Yes, you can choose one Co-PI.
Can I choose the ISRO centre, where my project will be sent for review
No. This is automatically fixed based on the program, area, and field that you have chosen for your project. Various ISRO centres belonging to different programs, areas, and fields are given in the handbook Research Areas in Space (2023), can be downloaded from our Download section.
Do I always need to indicate the ISRO expert in the form?
No. These fields are NOT mandatory. If you have NOT decided on any ISRO expert, you can leave this field blank.
How do I choose an ISRO expert?
In the handbook Research Areas in Space (2023), you can see to which ISRO centre, your project will be sent for evaluation. Based on the area of your project, you can visit the specific centre's website and pick out an expert.
Can I contact a specific ISRO centre and the contact person?
Yes, you can always contact the ISRO centres and explore who will be best person to discuss your project. You can also contact the RESPOND coordinators of various ISRO centres, given toward the end of the handbook Research Areas in Space (2023).
I need a high-value instrument in my project and my institute does not have it.
These projects are NOT meant for infrastructure development. If you need a very sophisticated instrument in your project, we encourage you to explore various ISRO centres and other national facilities, where you can use this instrument.
What is the maximum budget I can project?
We do not have a specific limit. However, you are expected keep your budget within about ₹20.0 lakh or so.
Can I propose a computational facility?
Yes, you can for your personal computation required for the project. But we discourage setting up a full cluster just for your project.
